Background:

Automated Construction Enhanced Solutions, Inc. (dba A.C.E.S.), was incorporated in the State of New York in 2007. The corporation was formed as the extension of a sole proprietorship named Automated Civil Engineering Systems formed in 1997, which was the direct descendant of Design Plus Software Company formed in 1992. All three were founded by Jonathan N. Millen, a New York State Licensed Professional Land Surveyor, who also acted as the President and C.E.O.

In 1986 while working for Urban Planning and Engineering Associates, a division of McBride Enterprises in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, Jonathan was awarded First Place by the New Jersey Society of Professional Land Surveyors in their Annual Map Contest under the category of Computer Aided Drafting for a Site Development Plan. In 1988 Jonathan was the Vice President of Engineering and Surveying Computer Systems, Inc. (E & S Computer Systems), the developer of the Design Plus Software. This was an application that automated the design and drafting production processes of the professional land surveyor, and civil engineerAt that time the Design Plus application was in use by over 500 companies nationwide. It was selected exclusively by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to automate their engineering and surveying production in 23 states. In 1995 Jonathan was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the USDA for outstanding support of Design Plus Software to the NRSC in Pennsylvania. Among other notable clients were the City of Anaheim, California, the Cherokee Nation, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and the County of LaPorte, Indiana. Design Plus was at the forefront of the computer revolution as a multi-user, networked system running on the Tandy Data Systems TRS80 platform, and later on MS-DOS and Netware; producing finished drawings for both the AutoCAD and VersaCAD applications.

Over the next few years, Jonathan developed a close working relationship with R. Bruce Carlson, James Carlson, and David Carlson of Carlson Software in Maysville, Kentucky. They are developers of software applications, enhanced handheld data collection, GPS, and machine control devices addressing the needs of the land surveying, civil engineering, construction, and mining industries. Jonathan also served for a brief time as Vice President of Marketing. As a Carlson Authorized Dealer, A.C.E.S. continues to provide sales, support, and consulting for their product line. In his opinion, Carlson Software is the consummate provider in their industry, and are unsurpassed in application/hardware development and product support (http://www.carlsonsw.com).

Jonathan spent over twenty cumulative years as an application developer, training consultant, project manager, sub-contractor, and field supervisor. During that time he compiled over eight years of experience working exclusively on land title surveys as a sub-contractor under the direct supervision of licensed professional land surveyors from coast to coast, accumulating a unique perspicacity of the art and science of land surveying. Finally he formed the foundation and inspiration to become a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor.

Jonathan N. Millen is a sustaining member of the New York State Association Of Professional Land Surveyors (NYSAPLS), listed in Orange County.
